Frozen Toms River and Barnegat Bay

The sunlight "dances" on the frozen
Toms River looking south.

This sea gull and I were enjoying
a stare down contest.  He won! It was
far too cold for me to stay
out near the Toms River.

Ice on the dock at the end of Fischer Blvd.

We crossed the bridge into Seaside Park.
Here you see a couple of docks along
Barnegat Bay looking north.

These icicles reminded me of the
limestone stalactites you might
see in one of the underground
caves.

Similar to a vanishing point, I was
also intrigued by the shadows cast
from the iced wooden structures.

Finally caught one of the shore
birds in flight!

Interesting shapes were created by the
ice on the grassy shore line,

There must be a warm spring in
this section of Barnegat Bay,
enabling these birds to look
for any fish swimming by.
