Glacier National Park, MT

Friday dawned a beautiful day after rain on Thursday
afternoon and all night. It was chilly but the sun was out.

This is one of the views from our balcony. Isn't this a spectacular
greeting to the day?

Another view from outside of our room. Yes, that
is some new snow added to the glaciers you see here.

Who would want to leave a view like this? We
had to say goodbye to this, looking forward to what
was to come on our journey.

We ended up at Many Glacier Hotel since the place we
had reservations for double booked the same room.
We were compensated nicely for the inconvenience.
You should have seen the breakfast buffet! Truly
fit for King William and Queen Jean.

The wind is outrageous at many spots in the park.
Yes, that's a scarf on my head.
Stop laughing!!!

Goose Island is in the middle of this picture. This place
in Glacier National Park is one of the most
photographed in the country. You should have
seen the people lined up to take this shot.
Breathtaking, isn't it?

Jackson Glacier. Unfortunately, it is
getting smaller every year.

A long shot of the valley below. Click on the image
for a larger view. You can do this to any of the
photos in the blog.

One of the many waterfalls in Glacier.

This is my artsy fartsy picture of water droplets
on the pine needles from the constant fog or
clouds at Logan Pass.

Wasn't it kind of this ground squirrel to pose for me?
He only wanted me to capture his profile.

Here we are up close and personal with a glacier and
waterfall. I was like a kid in a candy store
when Bill pulled over for me to see this.
Donna, are you planning your trip out to
Montana next summer?

A quiet stream on the side of the road.

We concluded the day at Hungry Horse Dam outside
of Glacier National Park. Bill was here years
ago when they were building it. Way in the
background is Glacier National Park.
