Colorado National Monument, CO

Welcome!

Climbing higher and looking
back at where we had driven.

I am quite fond of the pinyon pines.

An interesting geological formation.

Looking at the side of a
canyon from the opposite
side.

"Fallen Rock"
This huge boulder in the middle
of the picture fell off the rim
of the canyon.

Here you can see an
amphitheater.  Wind and
water erodes these semi-circular
indentations in the rocks.

Beautiful wild flowers
along the road.

"Beehive Coke Ovens"
Named such since they look
like beehive coke ovens!

"Independence Monument"

"Fruita Canyon View"
In the distance you can see
the Colorado River and the
town of Fruita.

Some of the natural vegetation
found in Colorado National Monument.

"Balanced Rock"
