Going to Moab, Utah

Took a ride last night in Grand
Junction, CO to catch this sunset
photo.  A lovely farm is in
the distance.

I had Bill drive 13 miles so I could get
a picture of Grand Junction Central
High School.  This is where President
Obama held a town hall
on August 15, 2009.

A little bit into Utah on I-70 West,
this is what greeted us!

We got onto Route 128 heading toward
Moab, UT and began seeing many
interesting geological formations.
Route 128 is a scenic byway.

The Colorado River has done a good
job cutting through the sandstone
formations.

A beautiful composition representing
the Colorado River Valley, with
the highest peak of the mountain
standing tall at 11,700 feet.

Formations similar to those in Monument
Valley and Arches National Park.

A cluster of pinnacles.

In this section of the Colorado River, we
find many rafting companies providing
adventure to the brave.  Lots of
campgrounds dot the road as well.
As for us, we are staying at the La
Quinta Inn!
