Dallas, Texas

After driving through Fort Worth, we stopped here
for lunch before we went through Dallas. A note to
my daughter - I did see where the Texas Rangers
play but could not get a picture. Maybe when you
go to the stadium you can get one for me. There
was a game going on.

Skyline of Dallas as seen through the windshield.

A formidable little house in a Dallas suburb complete
with winding driveway and electric gate.

I watched every "Dallas" TV episode made.
Bill drove an hour to get me here to see Southfork.

This is the main house. Unfortunately I did not
see Bobby or JR.

To the right of the main house are stables.

To the left of the house there are barns and
other storage buildings.

There are six main gates. This one is the
exit. You can take a tour but we were too
late for that. An un-numbered gate led to
a ranch style condominium for the main staff.
This is a working farm.

You can see their corn is far more advanced
in the growing season than in NJ. It is already
three feet tall. Texas tomatoes are already
being sold.

For a community of 4,000 people, this is the
kind of high school the state provides. The state of
Texas exerts great control over its schools.
Statewide, everyone uses the same text books
and from the look of school architecture, they must
use similar architects. Every school building we
saw simply beautiful.

Besides the academic building, there is a stadium
with two large, permanent sets of bleachers.
