Kentucky

Today started out rainy and stormy, but we found
the people of Kentucky warm and friendly.

At the last minute we decided to stop here.
We had hoped to get out of the rain and wait for
it to pass, but we did not get in to see
the caves since there was a long wait
for the tours.

The rain did stop and I got this picture
at an overlook.

These cattle were uncomfortable in the afternoon
heat and humidity, so they simply cooled off
in the pond.

Kentucky is known for bourbon. It actually produces
95% of the US market. This is one of eight distilleries.
We arrived just as they were closing.

Inside these locked storage buildings are oak
barrels filled with corn whiskey. It must be
aged at least two years to be called bourbon.
