Spearfish, SD

We began our day at Mount Rushmore.

This is one of the most recognizable sculptures in the world.

Bill with his friends; George, Thomas, Theodore and Abraham.

A one way double tunnel on Rt. 16A in the Black Hills.

I was able to capture this picture of Mount Rushmore
from the opposite mountain several miles away.
These images look more real from this distance
than up close.

Custer State Park is in the Black Hills.
It is called the Black Hills because the
vegetation is so dark green, it sometimes
appears black.

1300 buffalo run freely in the park.
Mature males can weigh almost a ton.

A female bison with her calf.

Man made ponds collect water from all over the area.

We encountered a herd of burros.
They are wild but have learned they
can get treats from people by
stopping traffic.

My best attempt yet at capturing a photo of a wild turkey.
They are smart, fast and can fly.
