Annie Creek Falls, OR.

Snow capped volcanic peaks abound in the region.

An uneventful side trip.

Devil's Homestead.
Behind Bill is a lava flow that is 12,800 years old.

Entrance to Natural Bridge.
This is one of a dozen lava tubes within the
national monument.

Five of the lava tube caves were closed
because bats were raising their young.

Red flowers among the lava rocks.

Can anyone identify this bird?
It was in the middle of a dry field,
and no water within miles.
Thanks to my sister, Donna, we have
now identified it as a Sandhill Crane!
