Great Falls, MT

I would love to have an entrance like this to
my home, but it would be so out of place!

The High Plains meets the Rockies.

An oil pumper on the High Plains.

A metal sculpture on Scenic Route 89, ten miles
north of Great Falls.

Bill on the banks of the Missouri River in
Great Falls. MT.  I made him stand by the
tree so I could catch the beautiful yellow leaves.

Great Falls began to dam the Missouri River to
produce electrical power.  This is about 200 yards
of what Lewis and Clark saw in 1804.

Bill with the first dam built on the
Missouri River.

Great Falls also has an oil refinery.

A close up of Eagle Point Falls.

Directly below the second dam, the Missouri
River is reduced  to a trickle.  The vast majority
of water is being diverted into a hydro-electric
generating station.

A long view of the Missouri River
behind dam 2 toward dam 3.  There are
8 dams on this section of the Missouri River.

A young woman had several people watching
her windsurf on the river.  The wind is a constant
roar in MT and she was using the wind in the sail
to surf around and at times lift her out of the
water 6 - 7 feet high.  Incredible!!
