Whitefish, MT

This is the logo for the Great Northern Powder Guides.
I had no clue what this meant until Bill explained it
to me.  Check out the next photo.

This vehicle is used in rescue missions.
The multi-wheeled tracks enable it to plow
through snow.  The term "powder" refers
to wind driven snow; not the kind we get
along the east coast.

This afternoon we took a ride up Big Mountain
in Whitefish.  We passed several exclusive resorts
and came upon a development called
Elk Highlands.  I had to take a few pictures
of the gorgeous homes with million dollar views.

The further along we drove, the more elaborate
these "cabins" became.

The largest homes are at the tops of the mountain
in gated, exclusive compounds.

This one is for sale.  Any takers?

Get a load of this!  Elk Highlands has its own
private ski lift to the top of Big Mountain.  On the
entrance the sign says Elk Highlands is a
"Ski In/Ski Out Community"!
