Durango, CO

Metal sculptures like this are attached to the
utility poles in Del Norte, CO on Rt. 160 W.

The head waters of the Rio Grande River
in the San Juan Mountains.

Wolf Creek Pass.
The elevation here is 10,857 feet!
Water from the east side of the pass flows into
the Rio Grande River and water from the west
side flows into the San Juan River.

We found this high mountain lake on the west
side of Wolf Creek Pass.

These are Rocky Mountain goats.

Here you see the Treasure Falls in the San Juan
Mountains.  The water falls 230 feet.

Another view of the San Juan Mountain Range.

A large lava rock, pinyon pine with the snow
covered mountain peak in the distance.

A herd of elk scampering away from
the photographer - me!
