Lowry Pueblo to Montrose, CO

Before we left Cortez, CO, I stopped to take this
picture of one of the hibiscus in bloom in the
hotel atrium.

It took some doing, but we finally got here!

Part of the Canyons of the Ancients includes
a section called Lowry Pueblo.

Here we are at one of the outer buildings.

All ancestral Puebloan sites have distinctive
fronts and backs.  Fronts have doorways and
backs have none.

Heading towards Montrose, the farms disappeared
and a new type of terrain took over.

Both Bill and this tree have character!

A rugged looking landscape.

In the foreground you see a wonderful crop of
sage.  The Great Sage Plain extends from
southwest Colorado to southeast Utah.
