Flaming Gorge, WY & UT

It has been a wish of mine to do the entire loop
around Flaming Gorge that lies in Wyoming
and Utah.  It was a beautiful 170 mile trip.

We started down the eastern side of the Gorge
from Rock Springs, WY, going south
on Rt. 191.

I was thrilled when this beautiful pronghorn
antelope decided to pose for me.

Check out the dinosaur on the sign.
This is the first time we saw this added
to the Utah sign.  Thought of my great
nephew when I saw it.

A giant red monolith at the edge of Flaming
Gorge Reservoir.  The melting snow
on the mountains in the background
help fill the reservoir.

This looks like a portrait you would
hang on the wall.

Bill is in his glory at the dam!

Red Rock Canyon, which is part of
Flaming Gorge.  It was stunning to see
this in person.

Another view of Red Rock Canyon.

Time for another artsy picture with
Bill Markwalt in mind!

A long shot of Flaming Gorge.
These few pictures are only a
snapshot of the 50 mile Flaming Gorge
National Recreational Facility.

I had to include this photo to show
the beauty of the red rock, giving
Flaming Gorge its name.
