Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, AZ

Bill was hoping to see some animal life,
but all he found was this sign. This was at
the scenic overlook to Oak Creek Canyon.

From the canyon rim to the bottom of the canyon
is almost a 2,000 foot drop. If you look carefully
you can see a small piece of road in the center
of the picture.

The journey to the bottom is accomplished through
a series of switchbacks. These are hairpin
curves you have to take at 15 mph or less.
Look out for falling rocks as well.

Once down in the canyon, you can look up
at the walls which have some of the similar
formations and coloration as the Grand Canyon.

Another formation along Rt. 89A.

An interesting fact is that if you plan on
stopping to take pictures you are required
to have a "Red Rock Pass". The purchase
price is unknown to us!
