Yosemite National Park, California

After an hour of road construction we finally arrived!

This is a classic picture of Yosemite Valley.
El Capitan is on the left, Bridal Falls is on the
right and Half Dome is in the center.

Yosemite Valley was carved from solid granite
by glaciers.

I finally got the courage to sit on the wall.
There's only about a 700 foot drop behind me.

Almost opposite Bridal Falls on the north side
is another lovely waterfall.

El Capitan. People were looking through binoculars
watching several teams attempting to climb the 900
foot shear wall.

This is the beautiful rushing river in Yosemite Valley.

Bill standing next to a redwood tree.

A parting shot of Half Dome. Climbers were not
allowed to climb Half Dome because the steel
guide cables were not up yet. They were hoping to
have them ready for Memorial Day weekend, but with
another foot of snow predicted for Wednesday
and Thursday, it is doubtful.
Only the main road through Yosemite was open.
With more than 25 feet of snow this winter,
there is a lot left on the mountain passes.
