Route 104 takes you to and over the CanadianEscarpment. It is approximately 2000 feet high.
This is high land that has shear walls.
On top it is generally flat with its own
unique vegetation.
This is ascending the Canadian Escarpmentlooking back at the Great Plains.
On top of the escarpment, which is several hundredmiles long and extending to the Rocky Mountains,
is an area called the High Plains.

Standing on the High Plains we looked westto the snow capped Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
